- Hello,
- Along time ago, way back in September if you can rember,
- I posted some questions about one Blizzard Accelerator board
- for my Amiga 2000, and some one named Phil so nicely responded.
- Well, as it turns
- out the real reason I couldn't get my Blizzard Board working was
- that one of the jumpers on it was set wrong, that is one of the
- little jumper do-hickies and not one of the six dip switches.
- I got the board working by switching one of these jumpers
- but now I've got another problem. First, I don't really
- know what the jumper did and second I can't get the memory
- to config right. I have only 512k of shadow ram which
- I've put on the board as the handy map Phil mailed me suggested
- however, whenever I attempt to turn on the memory manager
- my Amiga get's stuck during self test flashing between
- dark and light grey. My board says it's rev 2.0 could
- this be a cause?? Also I have an Alpha Data IDE HD controller
- with 2 megs hooked up, but even when I removed the ram from
- this the Blizzard Board still wouldn't boot. This is, of course,
- a problem since without the memory checker I can not access
- any Fast Ram, which is the only real way the accelerator can
- speed things up, as well as the only way I can run most
- applications decently. Any how, I was thinking of trying
- to run the board without any shadow ram, since I'd still
- have 2 megs of fast ram from the HD controller, would
- this work?? Also how do the dip switch combinations work
- for cofigurations less than two megs??
- If you've got the time, please send me some answers
- if not, well I understand.
- Thanks,
- Scott Matott sXe
-
- PS.
- I tried mailing Phil but the mailer rejected all
- attempts so Phil if you read this and rember check what's
- up with your server.
